Exercise Interventions for P.T.S.D. "A Pilot Study" at May Street Bicycles and Performance Lab3/27/2015 There are numerous studies that show exercise as a great component to a PTSD treat plan. A study by Sang Hwan Kim, MS , Len Kravitz, PhD and Suzanne Schneider, PhD (http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/ptsd-amp-exercise-what-every-exercise-professional-should-know) present some very good ideas of designing and implementing unique training programs for individuals with PTSD.
Now that I am fairly established at my new location I am ready to begin my quest to work with active duty and military veterans in dealing with PTSD through exercise and collaboration with other local agencies and experts. So if you or someone you know who is interested in being involved as a a participant please have them contact me. I will provide more information about this project in the coming days. Thanks for your support and interest.

There are many reasons to get a metabolic test. For Henry Levy who is getting ready to head back to Canada where he will be stuck on an indoor trainer for the next 4 to 6 weeks wants to focus on specific intensity levels. Henry recorded his metabolic session and sent me a copy. Southern Pines Brewery is the fine micro brewed beer served at May Street Bicycles. For the past two months we have been offering Duck Hook... which is off the hook! I really enjoy the cream ale taste. So I was little bummed when I talked with Micah for another order when he said they were out of my "DH"... BUT... Micah convinced me that the Plowman's Folley was a great option for a post ride brew. I took his advice. I must say I think I have a new "go-to-post-ride-sud." If you haven't tried the PF you gotta stop in the shop and check it out or go to the Brewery and get a growler of this "Frenchie-Belgeekish-Liquid of the Gods."
Come join in on the fun and be better prepared at your next event... check out the video on what not to do:) |
